I would add that next time I attend an event like this, I will spend a GREAT DEAL MORE TIME on logistics, have to take part of the blame myself, but as one poster above points out, IT IS UP TO THE SITE to try and provide accessibility and convenience, which is where Montreal, the PGA, the RCGA failed in their respective roles. If you are promoting your city/ your event, you should pay MUCH greater attention to this detail. They had to know from the getGO when they scheduled this on an Island 20 miles out that this would be a problem. It is COMMON SENSE.

the opinion i got from most out of town Canadians I spoke with is that this was typical of Montreal

the organization was quite poor (as pointed out NUMEROUS times earlier) coming from downtown Montreal which is where most visitors (non-Canadian, non-West of Montrealers familiar w/ the area) were going to stay. Great course and decent concession set-up (i've seen worse) but just plain rotten planning on getting to the course.... The shuttles on Friday a.m. around 11 (it took over an hour of public transportation to get there) were not there. Luckily found a cab and some shared transportation for Sat a.m.

Friday night exit was horrible as few cabs were at site and that pick up point was far removed from the shuttles. about a 1.5-2 hour schoolbus shuttle ride to W Montreal, Airport and downtown venues. Terrible.

A flat out F on the location-logistics/transportation.

Ron, I feel for you as you have tried to be most helpful, but whoever was in charge should be fired

I almost stayed away based on Steve's comments. Sure glad I didn't.
I was there for Sunday, and traffic was non-existent coming from the west, and I think we waited about two mins for the bus.
I thought it was organized great!

The parking and the shuttle were fine and punctual but there are next to no signs to get back to the shuttle
once leaving the tournament. Also on another topic, since cell phones are not allowed it would have been
nice to have pay phones in more than just one place.

if you are coming from out of town. I would stay away. period! This is the worst run sporting event I have ever attended. We lef the hilton airport near PET (12 KM) away at 8:45 an on friday and we didn't enter the grounds until 12:45 pm due to nightmarish traffic, and shuttle service. These people do not know how to put on an event. I understand there is 10,000 more people per day on the weekend. We plan to leave at 4:00 for the 7:17 am tee-times tommorow. Maybe I should ride my bike :(

I have weekly golf passes and am staying in Old Montreal. I'm also trying to figure out transportation plans from downtown. Would prefer not to have the hassle of renting and parking the car for the week. Connected with several major hotels downtown thinking they would definitely have a line on a bus or shuttle but no luck there. I can't believe this is not covered in the presidents cup plans. Organizers take note, it's not too late to arrange a bus service from downtown for designated times throughout the day. High demand for sure and it would very much please your paying golf fans. If anyone is organizing anything, please post it, I also need space for two throughout the week.

Glenn,
The shuttle is free; you can take a cab to the parking lot and take the shuttle without paying the $15.
Cabs can travel to the course: http://royalmontrealgolfclub.info/?page_id=96.
