To The Board of Directors
Royal Montreal Golf Club

RE: Garth Allen 1919 - 2007

As you are aware, my father passed away recently and had been a member of the club for many years but, due to lingering illness, had been forced to resign his membership.

On his death, the Board, as a special circumstance, approved having the flag flown at half-mast in recognition of my father. I cannot even begin to express my gratitude and that of our family at this gesture on behalf of the club and membership. I know that my father would have been deeply touched. Hios love of golf and the Royal Montreal Golf Club was profound and our family is deeply touched by this heartfelt gesture.

Please accept my sincere appreciation for your thoughtfulness and kindness in honoring Garth Allen.

Sincerely
Scott Allen
Waterloo, Ontario

Hi Stan,

Thanks for your comment!

I believe the best way for you to arrange to play golf at Royal Montreal is to ask your Club Secretary to write to The Royal Montreal Golf Club Secretary requesting a starting time on your preferred date.

This is the address to write to:
Royal Montreal Golf Club
25 South Ridge Road,
Ile Bizard, Quebec,
Canada, H9E 1B3
Att’n: The Secretary
Tel: (514) 626-3977
Fax: (514) 620-5304
Email: golf at rmgc dot org

If times are available yours will be confirmed in writing and you will bring the document with you to Royal Montreal in July.

I’m sure there is a lot of demand this year because of the publicity surrounding the Presidents Cup so I suggest you send the request off as soon as you can. Send the request by email or fax to speed the process.

I am a longstanding member of the Royal Cinques Ports Golf Club in Deal, Kent, England which, as you may know, has reciprocal privileges with the Royal Montreal Golf Club. I plan to be in Montreal from July 10-12 and would like to make arrangements to play golf at RMCG, preferably on the blue course, on July 12. I would like to have a couple of guests join me. Please advise by emailed reply as to the most appropriate procedures for me to follow to make these arrangements. Thank you for prompt attention to this. Stan Bush

Hi Helen,
Thanks for your comment!
RMGC is a private club so the best way for your father-in-law to play there is to ask the Secretary of his club in Ireland if they can introduce him as a guest.
The only other way is to be invited by a member.
Hope this helps.

I would like some information re visitors playing at Royal Montreal Golf Club. As I cannot find the phone number on the website, i am trying this method instead.

My father-in-law is an avid golfer and is member at a number of clubs in Ireland. He will be visiting us in October and would like to play golf while he is here.

Could you please let me know if it is possible for visitors to play at your club, and if so, what they should bring with them, and any other specific requirements?

Thank you for your help with this.
